Visit Spring Park
Discover a traditional coppiced woodland, hay meadows and a wildlife pond brimming with aquatic animal and plant life at Spring Park; a perfect day out during all seasons within the London Borough of Bromley.
Centuries of growing and extracting timber products has heavily influenced its appearance as an ancient coppice woodland. Today, it is an important remnant of a much larger wooded area and home to various wildlife including bluebells, woodland butterflies and small-leaved lime; a scarcely found tree species in southern England.
Spring Park is open all year round and easily reached by public transport and by car. There are two free car parks with limited spaces just off Addington Road.
Getting to Spring Park
Hayes Railway Station and West Wickham Railway Station are about the same distance from Spring Park, but are both quite a walk from the site. However, the London Buses 119, 314 and 353 connect from Hayes Railway Station and stop at Spring Park. For travel times, go to the National Rail Enquiries website.
The London Bus 119 runs from Croydon to Bromley and stops along Corkscrew Hill to the east of Spring Park. The London Buses 314 and 353 run between Eltham and Orpington to Addington with stops directly outside Spring Park. For travel times, go to the Transport for London website.
You can get to Spring Park by car from the Addington Road between Hayes and Addington. There are two free public car parks with a limited number of spaces and marked disabled bays.
There are regular London Tram services from Croydon, Wimbledon and Beckenham Junction alighting at Addington Village Interchange. From here there are frequent connecting 314 and 353 London bus services towards Hayes. For Spring Park, alight at Addington Road Pumping Station. The Office is situated on the edge of Coulsdon Common in Caterham on the Hill and is the central hub for both the Coulsdon and West Wickham Commons staff. Here you will find a small information point where you can speak to a member of staff, pick up maps, visitor guides and other publications about each of the commons.
