Explore pockets of heath, woodland and ancient earthworks on West Wickham Common; a compact site which offers wildlife, heritage and a far-reaching vista. Here you will find many woodland walks and a circular track which is ideal for a short visit or a starting point for exploring more of the surrounding countryside and nearby open spaces.

Through careful management of ancient oak pollards, the open 'wood pasture' habitat of West Wickham Common harks back to a time when the woodland produced timber for people. Nowadays, these gnarled and impressive veteran oaks are an important resource for birds, bats and fungi.

West Wickham Common is open all year round and is easily accessed by public transport. A small free car park is situated just off the Croydon Road.
