Cycling is a great way to access the park’s facilities, sports areas and other places of interest. It is also a healthy form of exercise with a low environmental impact and allows cyclists to avoid busy urban roads.

We kindly ask cyclists to be considerate and ensure pedestrians always take priority.

Cycling Policy

Considerate cycling is permitted where it is done so without interfering with the enjoyment of other park users and following the code of conduct. A person offending against any of the park regulations may be reported and a banning policy enforced.

Pathway code of conduct

Be considerate. Pedestrians have priority over all other users of pathways. Cyclists are asked to use these pathways considerately; keep in mind they are narrow and to be aware the others may not be aware of you. Remember that not everyone can hear the bell. Please remember this when passing and cycle at low speed.

Be Safe. We recommend you wear British Standard approved protective equipment and ask that you adhere to all pathway and entrance markings. Our pathways are not suitable for fast travel so please keep to a sensible speed. If you are in a hurry you may wish to use another route.

Be heard and be seen. Some park visitors may have a visual or hearing impairment, using a bell or wearing high visibility clothing will help others be aware of your presence. Use British Standard approved lights in low visibility conditions.
