The Wall garden, passing the heather bed on the right towards the Fothergill Rockery contributes greatly to the gardens seasonal bedding displays. Notice how the curved stone terraces are an ideal setting to show of sweeps of colour and structural planting.

Tree trail - Adjacent to the pond on the left side of the path is the Carpinus betulus ‘Quercifolia’ - oak leaved hornbeam. This is an unusual and rare form of hornbeam which grows two different types of leaf on the same branch, one of which looks like oak leaves and the other that looks like hornbeam.

Notice the unusual tree with drooping branches on the left, Weeping Ash, Fraxinus excelsior, ‘Pendula’. The leaves have 9 -11 leaflets which turn yellow in autumn.
