We do not have a photocopier but you can photograph some of the items in our collections.

Please note that the publication right in our holdings is owned by Guildhall Library, City of London Corporation, and members of the public cannot gain the publication right themselves by publishing, either with or without the consent of the owner of the material.

Using your own digital camera

Photography (without flash) may be permitted subject to copyright law. An application form must be completed (obtained from the Enquiry Desk) and the photography agreed by staff first as restrictions may apply. A daily photography permit costs £7 and is valid at both Guildhall Library and London Metropolitan Archives on the date shown on your receipt.

Photocopying by Library staff

Material can sometimes be copied for you by library staff. This service normally takes five working days and charges do apply. Completed orders can be collected from the Enquiry Desk or posted. Please ask at the Enquiry Desk for further information or call 020 7332 1868.

Scanning

Guildhall Library has no scanning facilities and readers are not permitted to bring their own scanner. Digital copying is provided via London Metropolitan Archive’s Image and Design service and you will need to contact London Metropolitan Archives directly to obtain a quote and timeframe for this service.

You will also need to obtain permission from Guildhall Library for the item to be scanned.
