Introduction to Guildhall Library history and collections

We offer an introduction to the Library’s history and collections with an emphasis on both printed and eResources for family and/or local history research.

One of our experienced librarians explains the resources available and provides information about using the Library. Where possible, visits include a tour of the Library’s book stores, which are not normally accessible to the public.

Tours

Duration: one - 1 ½ hours
Numbers: six minimum 20 maximum
£2.50 per person 

Group visits are usually held on: 

  • Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays
  • 10am-Noon or 2pm-4pm

It may be possible to arrange a visit on other days/times, subject to availability.

  • Details of the group and number attending
  • The subject focus of your visit
  • When you would like to visit

Payment can be made when booking or on the day and donations are always appreciated.​

Please be aware that as tours and visits are subject to availability we recommend booking well in advance.
