Librarians, archivists and museum professionals, especially those working with London history, local history, family history and special collections, may be interested in visiting Guildhall Library for a professional tour.

The tour consists of an introduction to the Library’s history and collections in the form of an illustrated talk from one of our Librarians and is followed by a chance to view ‘treasures’ from the collection. Where possible, there will also be an opportunity to visit the book stores, not normally accessible to the public.

Duration: one - 1 ½ hours
Group size: minimum six maximum 12
Cost: Free

How to book

Group visits for professionals are usually held on:

  • Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays
  • Between 10am-12midday or 2pm-4pm

However, it may be possible to arrange a visit on other days/times, subject to availability.

  • Details and number of people in the group
  • When you would like to visit. Evening visit are possible, however, these will incur a charge

Visits are offered free of charge and donations are always welcome.
