In order to register a birth you need to book an appointment with the Islington Registrar who handle birth registrations for the City Corporation. 

​The Islington Registrar for births is open Monday to Friday 9am-4.30pm and is located at:

You may be able to get help with education and childcare costs

Help with costs such as education and childcare may be open to you through the UK Government. More information on the Help with childcare costs web page.

If you are a new parent of a baby/young child, you may be able to get a Healthy Start Digital Card to help you and your child eat healthily. You may also be able to get free Healthy Start Vitamins. More information on the Healthy Eating web page.

Support from our Early Years service

Parenting resources and support from Early Help

The Early Help service provides children, young people, and families with practical assistance to help them live full and happy lives. They work with children and young people from birth up until they are 18 and their families where there are emerging needs or difficulties.
