This course offers a unique opportunity for both beginners and more advanced students to develop their artistic skills. You will plan and develop a range of compositions using different media, experimenting with various techniques to explore your creative potential. You will work on your individual projects with personalised support and guidance from the tutor, who will help you refine your techniques and bring your ideas to life.

This course is designed to develop an awareness of a wide range of drawing and painting materials in an applied context. We cover a variety of subjects, and experimentation is a key part of the learning experience. The aim is to develop individual potential both technically and creatively. You will also learn essential formal elements in painting and drawing, such as mark-making, colour, form, and perspective.

This course is designed to develop your awareness of a wide range of drawing and painting techniques in an applied context. We will cover the use of mark-making, line, tone, form, perspective, and composition in drawing, along with an introduction to colour theory to enrich your understanding of visual art fundamentals.

To be eligible for funding on our free courses you should be a UK national or an EEA national with pre-settled or settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme and have been resident in the UK/EEA for the past three years. To be eligible for concessionary rates, you need to meet the aforementioned criteria and be 60 years of age or over, or be in receipt of Universal Credit Proof may be required, more information about this is on the enrolment form.
