The CIH Level 2 Certificate in Housing Practice is a professional qualification that provides a strong foundation for anyone looking to begin or progress their career in housing. Delivered through ASES as a CIH Approved Centre, this programme offers a practical introduction to housing and community services.

Programme overview

  • Duration: Approximately 3 months
  • Attendance: One day per week at Guildhall
  • Flexible structure designed to fit around work and personal commitments

Participants will gain knowledge and practical understanding of:

  • Housing organisations and their role
  • Tenancy management
  • Estate and neighbourhood management
  • Housing law
  • Customer care and communication

All content is aligned to professional standards set by the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH).

No previous housing qualifications are required.

Studying this qualification will develop practical accountancy skills in the double-entry bookkeeping system and in using associated documents and processes while gaining an understanding that digital accounting systems are automating some of the stages in the process. Students will cover transactions for accuracy, make entries in appropriate books and ledgers and calculate sales invoices and credit notes.

To be eligible for funding on our free courses you should be a UK national or an EEA national with pre-settled or settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme and have been resident in the UK/EEA for the past three years.
