Changes to on-street parking
The City of London Corporation is reviewing on-street parking rules, officially known as our Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ). The CPZ was last reviewed 17 years ago. Since then, the City has grown and how people travel has changed.
To better manage our limited kerbside space, we are considering changes to our CPZ, including:
- when people can park on single-yellow lines
- when payment is required for on-street parking and a maximum stay of four hours applies
- what parking charges apply for on-street parking at different times of the day and week
Disabled parking, loading restrictions and residents' off-street parking would not be affected.
A six week consultation on potential changes ran from 20 May to 1 July 2026. We are now reviewing all feedback.
More information on the potential changes can be found here.
What happens next
A decision on what changes, if any, will be implemented is expected at Planning & Transportation Committee on 8 September.
If any changes are agreed, there will be an opportunity to provide further feedback during a second consultation in autumn 2026.
Further information
The CPZ consultation presents the latest information on changes under consideration for on-street parking.
The approach to consult was approved at the City's 13 March 2026 Planning and Transportation Committee meeting.
