SBREC has resources that can help you. From profiles on countries worldwide, including the ‘ease of doing business’, key contacts and industry profiles to statistics on commodities traded worldwide.

You can access these databases with a SBREC membership.

  • You will need a subscription membership to access our databases that 'available remotely' from anywhere in the UK.
  • A free (Access) membership will give you access to all our databases in person at the Centre, which is open Mon to Thurs 10am-5pm.

Exporters Almanac (available remotely with Access or Subscription membership) has links to online industry directories worldwide, plus international trade organisations and business networks.

Global Trade Tracker (available remotely with a Subscription membership) contains detailed commodity trade statistics (value, volume, price) with monthly and yearly data from 2002 to date. Uses the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System (HS).

IBISWorld (available remotely with a Subscription membership) is primarily a market research tool looking at the UK, overseas and regional markets and contains mini profiles on companies.

Statista (available remotely with a Subscription membership) has profiles and financials for 15 million companies worldwide. It also provides worldwide statistics.

Press articles are a powerful source of business information, and you can access our databases with your membership.

Business Source Premier and European Newsstream (both available remotely and at the Centre) contain thousands of articles that are useful for finding out trends, information on companies, and tips and advice on practical issues such as advertising or managing staff. You will also be able to use Access to Research (available at the Centre) and Ebsco Discovery Search (available remotely and at the Centre) which also include articles and reports from many sources.
