Epping Forest Visitor Centre at High Beach
Loughton Camp
Loughton Camp is one of two Iron Age earthworks, both Scheduled Monuments, thought to have been built around 500 BC - the other is nearby Ambresbury Banks. Here you can appreciate the ancient mounds, admire the majestic beech trees and see if you can imagine yourself back in time.
Please be aware that cycling and horse riding is not permitted at Loughton Camp. This is to protect the ancient site. If you are walking in the area, please visit respectfully to ensure we protect these important historic sites for future generations.
