London Metropolitan Archives (LMA) holds records and archives relating to the history of London. We originate from a variety of different organisations including the City of London Corporation, the former Greater London Council (GLC) and its predecesor organisations including the London County Council (LCC), the Middlesex County Council (MCC).
In combination, the archives form a picture of the history of London and its surroundings for almost 1000 years. Read on to find out more about what we do, the collections we hold and how you can use them to discover your London history
